Workshop
National
Alliance Against Hepatitis C
May 25, 2009;
Kuwait
Hepatitis C is one of the
important communicable diseases that can
seriously affect health of the people. Due
to the nature of its methods of
transmission, it can affect health care
workers and undermine their medical career.
Although effective vaccines have been
developed for both hepatitis A and B yet, no
vaccine is currently available against
hepatitis C. This adds to the complexity of
the preventive measures against the disease.
However, strict precaution measures and
proper management can definitely lower the
burden of the disease.
Overall goal:
Reveal the overall burden of
hepatitis C in Europe, recognize the current
efforts for fighting hepatitis C at the
workplace and at the community in general,
as well as learn steps of medical management
of the disease and how to educate the people
about the dangers of the disease and how to
avoid infection by the disease.
Target
Audience:
Physicians and nurses
providing health care services, as well as
health planners and educators.
