Risk assessment is the key to
an environmentally safe workplace. It
requires an understanding of the nature,
magnitude and likelihood of adverse events
to man and/or the environment that might
arise from a specific material or process.
It is the basis for successful safety and
health management and the key to reducing
work-related accidents and occupational
stress. In this workshop risk assessment
rating, risk matrix and control methods and
tools will be explained followed by a
practical session and group discussion on
risk assessment.
Overall goal:
The ultimate aim of risk
assessment is to make a sound judgment of
the possible risk(s) at the work place to
take the appropriate preventive measures to
stop the hazard happening.
Target Audience:
Physicians and nurses
providing health care services, as well as
health planners, educators, safety
personnel, industrial hygienists, and
environmental inspectors.
