Sickness absence of workers
constitutes not only an industrial problem
but also a major public health problem that
undermine the economic development. The cost
of sickness absence adversely affects
production of workers and definitely affect
the overall moral and spirit at the
workplace. The problem is multi-factorial
and might indicate serious problems that
need investigation and management. In fact,
workers must ensure their membership through
physical as well as psychological
attendance.
Overall goal:
The
ultimate aim of this workshop is to uncover
the real burden of sickness absence in
Kuwait and learn how measure and manage
absence of workers.
Target
Audience:
Physicians and nurses
providing health care services, as well as
health planners, educators, safety
personnel, industrial hygienists, and
environmental inspectors.
